Full Description
During the course of landscaping works carried out at an unspecified location along the west side of Souter's Lane in 1983, an amount of Saxon period pottery was found (1). Two Chester ware jar rims were recovered, one of rim type 1B and of 2A (said to be more rare than 1B generally). It was speculated that these unstratified finds may have been related to Saxon material from the area of the amphitheatre (1).
