Full Description
Evidence of possible Roman path or alley was recorded during archaeological investigations on the site of the former bowling green in Hunter Street in 2010. Trench 3 of the evaluation in the north-east corner of the site encountered a sandy silt layer containing many sandstone fragments. The layer produced only Roman dating evidence and it is suggested by the excavator that this represented an alley between two barrack buildings. (1)
