A spigot mortar mounting (thimble) located within an earth emplacement. Spigot mortars are an anti-tank or anti-personnel weapon dating from the Second World War. The mounting is typically a drum of concrete with a domed top. The top has a metal pin for mounting the mortar on.

Spigot mortar thimble (mounting) located within an earth emplacement. Probably forms part of a defended position with the pillbox/machine gun emplacement to the south-east, CHER 4079/0/4.
