Summary

During excavations carried out to the rear of 38 - 42 Lower Bridge St. in 1975, a 10 - 12 m wide cobbled surface, possibly a road, was recorded as about 30 m west of Lower Bridge St, following a roughly north - south alignment. Although the make-up of this surface produced very little in the way of datable material, and approximate date for its construction can be given as late first to early second century.

During excavations carried out to the rear of 38 - 42 Lower Bridge St. in 1975, a 10 - 12 m wide cobbled surface, possibly a road, was recorded as about 30 m west of Lower Bridge St, following a roughly north - south alignment. Although the make - up of this surface produced very little in the way of datable material, and approximate date for its construction can be given as late first to early second century (1).
