Full Description
During excavations carried out to the rear of 38 - 42 Lower Bridge St. in 1975, a 10 - 12 m wide cobbled surface, possibly a road, was recorded as about 30 m west of Lower Bridge St, following a roughly north - south alignment. Although the make - up of this surface produced very little in the way of datable material, and approximate date for its construction can be given as late first to early second century (1).
