Whatcroft Hall Lodge, Whatcroft. Mock Tudor designed house. Victorian. Looks more recent than the Hall itself. Possible added when extensions were done to the Hall in Victorian times.

There are two approaches to Whatcroft Hall. The principal historic approach to the eighteenth century Hall appears to have been from Shipbrook via Manor Lane and Lodge Bridge over the Trent and Mersey Canal and through the parkland to the arrival space by the north entrance. There are two lodges on the eastern side of the canal; ‘the Lodge’ north of the drive, an early lodge in approximately this location is shown on the Tithe Map (see 4), and Gate Lodge to the south, post 1910 and extended in recent years (see 7). Photos 1 and 2 in report.
