Summary

Coin of Geta (c. 208AD) found some time before the 17th century. It is drawn on Speed's 1610 map of Chester. There is no known provenance though the coin is show close to Christleton on early maps.

Full Description

Coin of Geta (c. 208AD) of unknown provenance. it is quoted by Raspin de Theyras, in 1732, and protrayed by Wencelas Hogger (1607-1677). It is also drawn by Speed, on his map of Chester (1). Inscribed COL.DEVANA LEG. XX VITRIX (2). Ormerod does not suggest a provenance. Latham appears to suggest Christleton since the coin is shown near the village on early maps.
