A mid to late nineteenth century timber framed commercial building. The use of timber framing in this building is a deliberate construction technique common in Northwich during the nineteenth century designed to reduce the effects of subsidence. If subsidence occurred the structure could be jacked to a level position or dismantled and moved.

A mid to late nineteenth century timber framed commercial building with an ornate timber façade. Evidence of subsidence front and rear, particularly no.12. No.12 is not in use and no.14 is part of an office.
