Summary

A British Rail Station built in 1897. It is built of yellow brick with stone string courses and stone tablets over doors and windows. There are mock Corinthian marble pillars with ornate carving stone heads to main entrance. Pleasing wrought iron work on cast iron pillars support the glassed roof. There is a clock on the platform by Joyce of Whitchurch. Judging by the markings on the front brickwork over the main entrance, a substantial canopy has existed at some time past.
