Summary

A late eighteenth century brick farmhouse built on the site of an earlier medieval hall (see CHER 908/1). The farmhouse up to three storeys high and is built of red brick with a slate roof. The farm has been variously known as Manley Old Hall, Manleyhall Farm and Manley Upper Hall.

A late eighteenth century brick farmhouse. There are documentary references to 'Mandeleye Hall' and the 'Halle of Manley' in 1495 and 1536 repectively. Manley Old Hall was known as Upper Manley Hall, to distinguish it from the other hall in Manley (Lower Hall). A Ordnance Survey map dating from 1899 refers to this as Manleyhall Farm.

Former grade III listed building. List entry was as follows:
Late eighteenth century, with alterations and additions. Three storey three window red brick farmhouse. Stone plinth. Slate roof. Repaired parapet and part of front. Curved heads to ground floor and first floor windows, with keystones. Recessed sash windows, with many glazing bars missing. Arched entrance with radial bar fan, and stone case. Interior - six panel doors with H hinges. Plain stairs with swept hand rail. Original mantels remain in some rooms upstairs, some with hob-grates.
