Full Description
Part of a Roman Ditch was identified in Trenches 1 and 3 during an archaeological evaluation in the car park at Steam Mill St., Chester, in 2003 (1). The ditch measured 0.5m wide, was approximately 1m deep, and aligned roughly north – south across the site, and was found to contain abraded pottery sherds. It is possible that the feature is related to other Roman field ditches identified by previous excavations in this general area (1).
