Full Description
A gully and a posthole, both with fills containing Roman pottery, post-dating a stone structure (CHER 8102) at this location, was found during an archaeological evaluation at the corner of The Groves and Souter’s Lane, Chester, in 2007 (1). The posthole, in particular, suggests later structural activity here on a less grand scale than the earlier sandstone building.
