Full Description
Watkin's observations of the Roman road system to the east of the city divided into three directions at Boughton, the northerly route continuing on to Manchester (CHER 844/1/0), a south-eastern route to Chesterton (CHER 8018/1/0) and a southerly route to Aldford (CHER 8019/1/0). Dr Foote Gower also suggests the presence of a minor road on the east bank of the River Dee between Boughton and Aldford (1).
