Full Description
A sandstone surface measuring 0.05 to 0.08m thick, constructed of sub-angular red sandstone fragments measuring between 0.02 and 0.09m in size, was recorded in a test pit excavated on land to the north of delamere Street. The surface sealed Roman deposits containing second century material, and the interface above it had a small quantity of Roman pottery (1).
