Full Description
The Tithe map for Burton township (1839) depicts a road which the Tithe award describes as an Occupation road (1).
The line of the road is marked by an irregular linear cropmark (CHER 5684/1) which forms part of a probable medieval field system. Evidence of the road can still be found during ploughing (2).
The western part of the road is still extant on the Ordnance Survey 1st edition, hower the eastern end has been relaced by a north-south aligned road or track which follows a field boundary (3).
