A crop mark aligned north-east to south-west indicative of a ditch.
<2> Various, Written Communication to the HER, Phillpot R 15/02/2011 (Written Communication). SCH3756.
A north-south linear ditch and an irregular ditch running approximately east-west. The latter forms the southern limit of a series of broadly spaced parallel lines. Cartographic evidence indicates that this ditch marks the line of an 'Occupation road' which was still extant in the nineteenth century. Ploughed out ridge and furrow is visible in the field to the north. These features appear to form part of a probable medieval field system reorganised by the nineteenth century.
<3> See map for surveyor, c.1837-51, Cheshire Tithe Maps and Awards, Burton Township EDT 78/2 (Maps and Plans). SCH3266.
