Summary

Modern Ordnance Survey maps depict eleven boundary stones, most of which correspond to strip like plots, owned and occupied by different land owners and tenants, depicted on the 1839 tithe map. Historic Ordnance Survey maps show that there were once at least thirty of these boundary stones here. There are eight similar examples near Frodsham (which are grade II listed buildings). These stones marked the boundaries of farmers' rights to strips of a communal meadow and date from the late eighteenth century.
