Summary

Former Magistrates Court Westminster Road Ellesmere Port A purpose built Police Station and Magistrates Court built by Cheshire County Council in 1910-1911.It has a twin gabled façade with Cheshire County Council heraldic devices (wheatsheafs and “CCC”) to gable spandrels. It is 3 storeys high and built of red Ruabon brick with decorative sandstone banding under a pitched slate roof with red brick chimneys. There is a single storey entrance porch with a round head fanlight and stone parapet. The interior has a panelled courtroom with modest carved work and unusual projecting carved lintels to doors.

Description

Purpose built Police Station and Magistrates Court.

Twin gabled 3 storey red Ruabon brick walls with decorative sandstone banding.

Single storey entrance porch with round head fanlight and stone parapet over.

Interior has panelled courtroom with modest carved work and unusual projecting carved lintels to doors.
