Summary

Neston Town Hall High Street, Neston A building dating to 1887-88 with a hipped, slated pitch roof and a dutch style gable to centre of the front elevation with decorative brick crockets to a stepped gable parapet. There are sandstone moulded string courses and a central shield with a cartouche surround, bearing the 3 cornsheafs of Cheshire. A connect string course inscription reads “TOWN AD 1888 HALL”. The windows consist of 4 panes, with the top pair hung to open out. There are 2 symmetrical entrance porches with corniced sandstone flat parapeted roofs for the left hand (north) door to Town Hall, and the right hand (south) door to Post Office. The elevations are smooth (Ruabon?) red brick with moulded string course to the first floor and a sandstone plinth.
