Summary

Former Bank LL51 (Previously LL EP/5) 79-83 Station Road Ellesmere Port Built in 1930, this is a single storey building of more modest height and proportions than other nearby banks. The main elevation is in brick with brick quoins to the splayed front entrance at the corner of Meadow Lane and Station Road. It has a pitched slate roof behind a brick parapet, a simple classical cornice with a dentil course and fascia sign. The windows have large fixed panes in timber frames beneath flat brick arch lintels. The main door is surrounded by a timber moulded door case with lozenge pattern decoration and has a fanlight above. Internally, the arched ceiling of the banking hall is still in existence.
