Full Description
Rose House/Heath Lodge, Bluebell Lane, Hinderton
LL3
Address: Bluebell Lane off Quarry Lane, Hinderton
Architect: Possibly Alfred Waterhouse
Date: c1855
Description
A substantial dwelling of Ashlar coursed sandstone blocks with an unusual jettied corner tower in the Victorian “Arthurian” romantic tradition, not dissimilar to buildings at Port Sunlight. It seems likely that the building was originally associated with the Hinderton Hall estate, in which case the architect may be Alfred Waterhouse.
Heath Lodge appears to be a later addition - datestone above front door says 1899.
Condition
Good – building work being carried out to roof and windows of Rose House.
Current Use
In use as 2 dwellings.
