Full Description
<1> Portable Antiquities Scheme, Various, Portable Antiquities Data Import, LVPL-D99A61 (Digital Archive). SCH5212.
Small thumbnail scraper dating to the early Bronze Age, (2150-1500BC). The object is a pointed oval in plan and D-shaped in cross-section. The dorsal side has been worked and contains many facet and ridges. The outer edges have been retouched on each side of the implement. One half of the ventral side is flat and smooth while the other has been worked also. Bi-facial working is unusual for thumbnail scrapers so it was possibly being converted into another object such as an arrowhead also. The object is a clear, light brown in colour with a grey tip.
