Summary

A cottage or cottages built after the construction of the Manchester and Birmingham Railway from 1837 to 1842. Built on the site former lane to Brook Farm, which had been blocked by the railway embankment, much of the former lane was utilised as a garden. The name, Railway Cottages, suggest that the cottages may have been associated with the railway. Demolished in the early 1980s.

Presumably built for the Manchester to Birmingham Railway.

House/s clearly depicted with outbuildings to rear in long thin garden. The latter is possibly the former lane to Brook Farm (see 4).
