Full Description
Formerly a tollhouse and now farmhouse: it is early C19 with C20 alterations and extensions. Built in washed and rendered brick with a hipped Welsh slate roof and a central chimney of 4 joined diamond shaped stacks. It has a 2-storey, symmetrical 3-bay front in which the end bays have 2-light wooden casements. The central bay steps forward under the gable, and has a rectangular stone doorcase with C20 glazed door under a gabled hood oversailing on wooden brackets. There is a similar 2-light window above. To left is C20 lean-to extension (in keeping) .
The house stands on the Macclesfield-Hazel Grove turnpike that was modified in the early C19.
