Full Description
Two late 17th century cottages, with 20th century alterations. The cottages survive as brick nogged timber framing and brickwork with asbestos-cement sheeting over thatch. They are single storey with an attic, and 4 bays including a projecting gable (west) which completes a "T" shaped plan. There is fairly close studding, with single middle rail, and angle braces, some timbers are simulated in cement-mortar. The windows are fainly flush casements with C20 replacements in the east cottage. There are attic windows in gabled dormers and in the gable-end. The entrance doors have been replaced. In the interiors: the west cottage has bevelled beams and exposed joists whereas the east cottage is much altered and of no interest.
