Summary

Roman coin and brooch found in this parish. The coin is a sestertius of Marcus Aurelius (AD161 - 180) dating to sometime after AD 163. The bow brooch is in good condition and the pin and loop remain.

Full Description

Coin: Sestertius of Marcus Aurelius, condition, about Fine Obverse: -IVSARM- i.e., post AD 163 ("Armeniacus"). Reverse: Victory with shield on stand, no legend visible. Fibula: Complete fibula; Collingwood type R(ii). The bow of the brooch has been bent and distorted (?) in antiquity: The pin and suspension loop are complete and undamaged (1) (2).
