Full Description
Perfect piece of Roman road measuring 12m in width. Removal of topsoil revealed small stones hammered into yellow/orange clay. On the west side evidence of the `V' ditch had been destroyed by the insertion of a modern land drain. Beneath the yellow/orange clay a layer of fist sized stones lay on the natural hard red clay (1).
