Summary

Penny of Henry III (1216-72). It is a long cross coin from 1248-1250. The coin is buckled with a crack through center. Long cross coinage is so called because the reverse side has a cross that extends to the edge of the coin, a design that was introduced to prevent coins form being clipped. It was introduced during the reign of Henry III (1216 -72).
