<4> Portable Antiquities Scheme, Various, Portable Antiquities Data Import, LVPL-4E41E6 (Digital Archive). SCH5212.

Steel yard weight dating from the Post- Medieval period. It is sub-rectangular in plan, narrowing slightly towards the top. It is square in cross-section. The top face has the remains of an iron loop used for suspension. On all the long faces there is decoration in the form of impressed circles. This type of weight is difficult to date precisely if found as a stray find as they have been used for long periods. This weight is likely to date from the Post-Medieval period.
