Full Description
<1> Portable Antiquities Scheme, Various, Portable Antiquities Data Import, LVPL-22AA84 (Digital Archive). SCH5212.
Fragment of a post-medieval crotal bell. These bells date to the 17th and 18th centuries. Only a small part of the bell remains but looking at its slight curve the bell must have been fairly big. It has been cast and the interior surface is smooth. Most of the exterior surface has worn/corroded away but some remains and incised decoration can be seen.
