Full Description
A cast Romano British plate brooch. Only the raised central ‘umbo’ remains, the border is missing. It is decorated with three circles of triangular enamel cells – an outer and inner red circle and a blue circle in between. The centre is corroded but may have included an enamel cell. Hinge mechanism and fragment of catchplate remain on the back, the pin is missing. Found by metal detector (1).
