Summary

In 1831, two twisted gold coiled bracelets or armlets were found whilst digging the foundations of a cottage between Egerton and Hampton Halls. The armlets are spirals of twisted gold with solid terminals. They were exhibited to the Society of Antiquaries of London in 1836 and are now in Manchester Museum.

In 1831 two twisted gold coiled bracelets or armlets were found whilst digging the foundations of a cottage between Egerton and Hampton Halls.

In 1831 two twisted gold coiled bracelets, both of the same type, or armlets were found in digging the foundations of a cottage between Egerton and Hampton Halls. Both were exhibited to the Society of Antiquaries of London by Sir Philip Egerton, bart. on 28 April 1836.

Two armilla, or bracelets of gold, found in 1829 or 1831 (accounts differ), whilst digging the foundation of a cottage between Egerton and Hampton Halls, only a mile from where the Bickley tabula was discovered. Attributes a Roman date.

Two beautiful armillae or bracelets, also of gold, were dug up between Egerton Hall and Hampton, Cheshire, in 1819, and now embellish the private museum of Sir P. de M. Grey Egerton, Bart. M.P., at Oulton Park.
