Foundations of a substantial building uncovered during the laying of a new mains water pipeline in March 2009. A 6 foot deep trench was dug which revealed the remains of a building. Previously, cobbles and stone flags have been unearthed in flower beds of the garden of the current cottage which dates to the early 19th century. A sandstone kerb stone was also uncovered and metal beer barrel tap.

Further report from the owner during a visit to the HER of more building remains in the garden of the property. In 2012 a stone step was uncovered in a vegetable patch with a brick floor below and brick wall foundations in front. In 2011 the remains of a boulder were uncovered close to the boundary with the property to the east. At various times pottery fragments have been uncovered including 17th century westerwald stoneware fragment, 17th and 18th/19th slipware dish fragments and very large fragments of 18th/19th century black glazed storage jar.
