Full Description

Ordnance Survey maps dating from the nineteenth and early twentieth centuries depict two or more 'Old Quarries' (1, 2 & 3). Modern maps suggest these quarries survive (4). The Tithe map and award for the township, dating from 1841, record this area as 'Smithy Common' (5).
