Full Description

Margery's Bridge crossed the Birkin Brook in the 14th century, perhaps in the vicinity of Bride Meadow. (3)

Possible small bridge shown crossing Birkin Brook just to the north of the woodland which covers its western bank. There is no indication on 1960s OS mapping of survival of a bridge in this area. Many large fragments of squared stone in bottom of brook; rapid walkover survey recovered remains of approach roads on either side of the bridge and the worked stone remains of the collapsed bridge structure.
