Summary

Horlsey Lane Farmhouse is a Grade II listed building. It is dated 1664/WWM on a window lintel. It is timber framed with whitewashed brick infill and a slate roof. It is two storeys high and there is some 20th century rebuilding in brick that has been painted in simulation of timber framing. The building suffered from a fire in around 1920 and the damaged timber framed walling was renewed in brick.

Full Description

Horlsey Lane Farmhouse, Horlsey Lane. Dated 1664/WWM on window lintel. Timber framed with whitewashed brick infill and slate roof. Two storeys. Entrance front: 6 x 3 cells of small framing with angle brace to left, right and center. Three casements to ground floor and two gabled windows to first floor with a C20 brick rebuilding at left with brickwork painted insimulation of timber framing. Lean-to C19 timber framed addition at right. Rear: small framing to whole of rear wall largely obscured by later outshuts. The building suffered from a fire in c.1920 and the damaged timber framed walling was renewed in brick. Full architectural description (1).
