Summary

Thornton Hall, Pool Lane, the Village. Farmhouse, probably 17th century, remodelled in 18th century, with early 19th century wing at rear. Brick, part pebbledashed, slate roof. Two storeys, four windows irregularly spaced. Timber casements.

Farmhouse, probably C17th remodelled in C18th, with early C19th wing at rear. Brick, part pebbledashed, slate roof. 2 storeys, 4 windows irregularly spaced. 2- or 3- light timber casements. Originally door of 6 panels altered to four, part glazed, below 2nd window. Added trellised porch. Stone coping at gables. Brick stacks at gable ends. Low pitched roof, probably raised. Interior. Doors of 5 and 6 panels. C18th stair has turned balusters and shaped mahogony rail. Internal C19th cheese hoist from dairy to store over. Cross wing formerly included possibly C17th leaded window.
