Summary

Three 19th century fluted cast iron bollards with conical heads located at the top of the ramp that leads up from Byron's lane to Old Mill Lane. The ramp is located on the west side of a watercourse and railway. The bollards are part of the railway bridge structure of mid 19th century date. Bollards stand 1.14m high and measure c.10cm diameter, broadening at the base. Presumed to be in their original position, performing their original function.

Full Description

Three bollards, early to mid nineteenth century. Cast-iron, fluted and tapered with fluted conical caps (1). Three 19th century fluted cast iron bollards with conical heads located at the top of the ramp that leads up from Byron's lane to Old Mill Lane. The ramp is located on the west side of a watercourse and railway. The bollards are part of the railway bridge structure of mid 19th century date. Bollards stand 1.14m high and measure c.10cm diameter, broadening at the base. The monuments were once painted white but are now corroded an in need of protective paint. Presumed to be in their original position, performing their original function (2 & 3).
