Full Description

the Hidden Ford ('le Derneford') recorded in the Harleian Manuscript Folio 1965-36.6, the recognition by Richard de Done, Lord of Tarporley, of the legal boundary between his property and that of the parish or manor of Iddinshall. This is given by Dodgson (see 2) as being at SJ536626 or SJ537620, the former reference is preferable and fits with the contiguous evidence. There is still a stone constructed crossing at this point (1). Dodgson translates 'le Derneford' as 'the obscure ford'.
