Full Description
The Ordnance Survey 1st edition 25” maps indicate that this area of the churchyard (CHER 1951/1/3) was occupied by a number of buildings and an orchard. The buildings are not shown on later maps, indicating their demolition (1 & 2). A series of properties were located to the north of the church, comprising 2 cottages, gardens, a barn and yard, tithe barn and a croft. The RCHME report states that 'their medieval and later predecessors are well documented' (3).
