The cropmarks are parch-marks, opposed to the negative cropmarks apparent on this photograph from the field drainage in this area, which pass through this suggested enclosure. There are small sub-circular negative cropmarks which are possibly natural in origin. The parch-mark suggests a bank with a ditch either side. The south-eastern side is indistinct, suggesting disturbance or greater complexity here. There is a good posibility that this parch-mark is the product of agricultural activity, rather than of subsurface archaeological remains. The 1973 photograph (and later images) suggest that therer may be a paleo-channel to the west and east of the enclosure. It may also sit in a slight depression or change in the geology.
