Monument record 547/1/15 - Priestly Field Archaeological Group Investigation of a Roman Road

Summary
Roman Road investigation. Finds found dating from different periods of time. Foundflints from the Mesolithic period, a bronze coin from the Roman period and glass from either the Roman or post medieval period. Pieces of Cisterician type ware also found along with lots of postmedieval ware. Fieldwalking and aerial photography has also revealed areas of other interest in the local vicinity including a possible burial mound and possible circular and rectinilar building remains. Project started in May 1999.

Full Description
Roman Road investigation. Finds found from different periods of time and over different years. Found flints from the Mesolithic period, A bronze coin and glass from the Roman period and wares from the 15-16th centuries and postmedieval ware. Project started in May 1999 (1).
