Full Description
Friends Meeting House. The meeting originated c.1667-9 following visits by George Fox and the present site was aquired in 1671 for use as a Burial Ground [CSMR 4496/1/0]. The first meeting house of 1681 was replaced by the existing building in 1736. The house has been used as a community centre since 1975. It has brick walls with later rendering to the South, with stone base and quoins and a more recent slated roof. Further architectual description in (1).
