Full Description
Monument to Hugh Bourne 'chief founder of the Primitive Methodists', 1852 (1).
Inscribed John Walford Architectus. Ashlar with inset lead lettering. Square base with diagonal buttresses to the corners with offsets capped by small obelisk finials. Resting on the plinth is a larger central obelisk. At the time of the resurvey (1985) the obelisk was fractured and in three pieces.
The inscription on the plinth notes his date of birth and death and his accomplishments (2).
