Full Description
Courtyard of farmbuildings, 50m north of Puddington Old Hall, the Village. Late C17 and C18 with recent alterations. Brick with Welsh slate roofs. North range was threshing barn. Two-storey, five-bay south front. Plain band at first floor with rises over partly blocked entrance with segmental brick arch. Five square pitch holes with segmental heads in line of ventilation slots above. West range is shippon. Two-storey, six-bay east side, partial sandstone plinth. Plain band at first floor. Inserted openings below, five square pitch holes above. South range is a two-storey, three-bay granary with band at first floor and brick coped gables. South-east angle has one storey former carthouse of red sandstone blocks with brick alterations. Interior: West range is reported to have a series of early timber trusses that probably came from an earlier building on the site. Full architectural description (1).
