Full Description
The farmhouse is a grade II listed building. It dates from the seventeenth century, but the date of 1821 on the rain-heads indicates extensive reconstruction. The windows date from the twentieth century. The farmhouse is constructed of orange brick in English garden wall bond, with a low pitched Welsh slate roof and 3 brick chimneys. The building is F-shaped in plan and 2-stories high. It has a 4-bay front. The 1st and 3rd bays project under shaped gables with stone copings. 1st bay has casements dating from the twentieth century. In the 3rd bay is a half-glazed door in an ovolo-moulded wooden surround, approached by stone steps. To the rear there is a dentil brick cornice. Interior: heavy boxed beams in the main rooms. Plain staircase and a pine door with 6 sunken moulded panels survive (1).
The Ordnance Survey 25" to 1 mile map shows a range of buildings forming a sub rectangular courtyard to the east of the farmhouse (2).
