Full Description
Baptist Burial Ground, the land of which was bought in 1689, was placed in trust in 1691 for the use of the Church now meeting in Great Warford [CSMR 1389/1/0]. It is described as a close called 'The Sandfield, 32 yards long and 20 yards wide at one end and two and a half yards wide at the other end besides the ditch'. A stone near the entrance erected 1933nis inscribed 'GREAT WARFORD PARISH BAPTIST CHURCH BURIAL GROUND FOUNDED 1689'.

[1] Joseph Burges, 1745, headstone;
[2] Thomas Faulkner, Elizabeth his Wife and their sons Samuel and John, all 1757;
[3] Thomas Eaton, 1710;
[4] Margret (sic), wife of Thomas Eaton, 1709;
[5] Mary Haywood, 1706;
[6] Dorothy Preston, 1701.
This burial ground presumably fell out of use when the burial ground around the church [CSMR 1389/1/1] came into use (1).
