Congregational Church with a big gabled front of three bays and paired entrances and octagonal corner tower with it's spire removed. Designed by William Sugden of Leek, 1876-7 and superseded the chapel on Mill Street (CHER 4446).

1876-7. Architect, William Sugden of Leek. Generally in Gothic style but with unconventional features. Stone with slate roof. Nave with east gallery. Squat octagonal north-east tower. Double portal with pointed arched doorways and linked gables. Polygonal west apse.

1876-7 by William Sugden of Leek. Has a large west window with rich geometrical tracery flanked by buttresses crowned with elaborate pinnacles. The gable is topped by a most unusual tabernacle sprouting a ball finial on a long stalk.
