Full Description
A small group of six 17th century & two early 18th century pipe bowls from a garden in Huxley. Of the 17th century pipes, one is probably North-Western in origin c.1630-50, & 2 others are of South Lancashire type. One has the initials 'HB' impressed into the base, 1640-60 & the other has the initials 'IB' in a semi-circular, cockaded cartouche, 1660-80. The 2 other pipes are 18th century & are of North-Western provenance, but uncertain origin. One may be a Chester pipe & the other at South Lancashire type. (1).
