Summary

Dallam Forge. Started 1840 making bar-iron plates and railway axles. Established Warrington Wire Iron co. to make rods for the wire-drawing trade. Later amalgamated with Pearson & Knowles, colliery owners, of Wigan. First mapped on the 1850 town plan of Warrington, and by 1890 it is much lager, though the complex may include a second works called Bewsey Works.
