Full Description
<1> Ashmore, O, 1982, The Industrial Archaeology of North West England (Book). SCH3181.
Dallam Forge. Started 1840 making bar-iron plates and railway axles. Established Warrington Wire Iron co. to make rods for the wire-drawing trade. Later amalgamated with Pearson & Knowles, colliery owners, of Wigan.
<2> Ordnance Survey, 1850-1, Five-feet to the Mile Scale Town Plan of Warrington (Maps and Plans). SCH4485.
First mapped on the 1850 town plan of Warrington (source 2), and by 1890 (source 3) it is much larger, though the complex may include a second works called Bewsey Works.
