Full Description
Brook Cottage, Crooked Lane. Early C17. Timber framed with brick nogging, concrete tile roof and one gable brick chimney. Two-room plan with entry against fireplace. One-storey and attic, two-bay south front. 8 x 2 small frames with two passing braces. Two four-pane windows. End walls in brick with original trusses. Timber framing of rear wall intact. Interior: Entry against brick baffle. Shallow inglenook with chamfered cambered bressumer. Exposed joists and quarry tile floors. Trusses of tiebeam and two diagonal struts. Wind braced purlins.
